Today, I will explain about the nature (characteristic) of real Japanese people!!

I am Japanese and I go our Japanese way so...

I think many of you might have seen a lot of "stereo typed Japanese like actors" or "like characters" in the Movie and books before.

These particular common images of Japanese are, incomprehensible smiling and laughing, noisy native words, Japanese slang English, no words while everyone is talking like acting...and more!!

However, these images are exaggerated, hence some of them are right and some of them are wrong!!

The actual nature of real Japanese can be seen from our moral standards which again and again taught from babies are...

【Our moral standards（私たちの道徳（規律）】

*No conflict and argument

*Be patient at all time

*Act carefully

*No lies

*Be honest, polite and friendly

*Trust friends in any situations

*Behave like a mature person...and more!!

As you can see, there is no big difference between your standards and ours.

However I could not be able to say that above characteristic matches all Japanese citizens, since Japan has the populations over 1.2 hundred million citizens, we have strange weird people like other countries too.

But when you have focus on to an individual Japanese person, you might be recognized Japanese are polite and more friendlier than other common nation citizens...maybe (^^)

【The general image of Japanese from the world】

Somehow, Many of you believed in all Japanese are...

Strange, Kinky, Nasty, Sneaky, Disgusting, Annoying, Dirty, Scam, Gross, Immorality...bla, bla, bla...（泣）

I definitely hate myself if those words are true!!

But they are completely wrong!!

I know all Japanese are completely opposite from the negative descriptions of the above!!

It comes from the fact that I am Japanese, favoring to my own country??

No, it's negative!!

From the Australian perspective point of view, I can say No, still!!

Therefor, there is a huge gutter between the major image of the world and the actual Japanese image.

How come this big differences have occurred??

This theme is so complicated and requires to make long explanations,

So, I will do my best to describe them all in short sentences...maybe...かもね？？





Firstly I talk about the theme "No conflict and argument"!!

The most of you feel very strange to see such words.

You probably may say YES to avoid "Conflict", but assuming to avoid "Argument" is very weird to the most of common nations.

If you have restricted to make argument with someone...You have no place to appeal yourself!!

It might cause, loose your position, job, even yourself in the society.

However, Japanese society does not accept to argue with someone!!

Sorry, "Accept" is "NOT" a right word for describe...The right word is...

"No need to argue" with someone in Japanese society!!

This explanation is very strange to you when You recall your common sense!!

For your understanding, I show you the examples to explain the above issues, so please read carefully!!





【Example One】

When you have planned to go out with some Japanese friends, they are very quiet and not intend to speak, even a single word, where they actually want to go!!

So, You have decided to take them to the Disney Sea!! (The Ocean themed Disney land at Tokyo)

You had very exciting time, but unfortunately you get down when light up your room at night!!

Why??

Because You lead all members to your favourite attractions while you're there, but You never ever heard any requirements from Japanese friends!!

Maybe They don't like me...You felt very sad and disheartened （泣）

【Example Two】

You call your Japanese friends for a dinner, You have asked their favourite restaurant, but they said "We just follow you"!!

Therefore, You take them to your favourite restaurant and have asked where to go for the next, but they never disclose their favourite restaurant, ever!!

So, You have get disheartened, and felt they are not accepting you in anyway（泣）





How do you feel if these particular events happened to you??

Why they did not appeal any desires??

Because They hate you??

No, No, No...I say it again...NO!!

Don't be upset!!

The truth is...they like you so much, So they did not tell you any requirements!!

You will see the keywords for to understand this complicated situation, Recall the sub title, "No conflict and argument"!!

If Your Japanese friends disclose their requirements, It might be against your wish and you may feel unpleasant!!

Therefore, They did not tell you any wishes!!

Ahaha...Very strange??

But this is the ordinary attitude of common Japanese!!

They care a lot about you, They do not want to appeal themselves!!

This is the particular Japanese mind of "Omotenashi (Hospitality)"

There is a similar proverb, "MesshiBoukou(Selfless devotion)", but honestly it does not fit in now days (^^)

But from these proverbs, you may conjecture common Japanese minds!!

Positioning self, below than the others!!

This tendency is getting stronger when they care more about you!!





So now...You know why Japanese hates conflict and argument!!

If they show their principles and policies (Requirements and any wish) like the above examples, it may against your feeling and may cause argument!!

If argument get excited too much, It probably make person get angry and may shift to a real conflict!!

Therefore... The ordinary Japanese Citizens are not intend to express their requirements to someone!!

Japanese truly hate conflict...So, no principles and policies are heard from common Japanese people!!

Also we have another proverb, "Kenka Ryoseibai (It takes two to tango)"

You know the meaning, it means "both people involved in a difficult situation must accept the blame"!!

YES, If you have fight with someone, People will "blame" on you!!

Well... "BLAME" is not the appropriate word to explain the situation...

Japanese do not blame on you face to face...

They take cold attention or take distance away from you!!

So...you may feel "What is wrong with these people, I've done nothing wrong!?"

Well, It does not matter whether you are right or wrong!!

Almost 99% of Japanese people do not want to see fighting in front of them!!

So, If you have fight (argue) with someone...

You have to apologize to the people around you, and take all  responsibilities for making an unsightly situation!!

This is the most particular keyword for to explain the nature of all Japanese!!

This is very important, so I repeat it again!!

No matter what you are right or wrong...

You must make apologies by taking all responsibilities of your repulsive behaviour!!

So,If you get annoyed with someone, Please defuse it at the Karaoke alone（泣）





Here some of you might get the hint, why Japanese are having emotionless faces!!

Again, Show emotions, Someone around you might feel insult or abusing!!

So, We close our feelings, be like a robot face!!

Occasionally Japanese shows a fierce feeling, but very rare!!

However, We quite often show our emotions when we frolic over with friends...

but We control our behavior at public space as a mature person!!
